Arrive early, because Immigration control in Kuala Lumpur is a nightmare. When we entered the country we had to queue up for over one and a half hours just to go through immigration, the same was true when leaving. Also some of the immigration officers were incredibly rude and antagonistic. Malaysia has introduced an e-gate system for immigration, mainly for Malaysian citizens, however certain other nationalities such as Australian citizens can supposedly use this e-gate. Unfortunately it didn’t work of Australian citizens and nobody seemed to know how the system worked or were particularly interested in fixing it. The result was that we had to wait in line again for over an hour.
